The heart behind this space
From Being Seen By God To Seeking To Know Him More Deeply
Sparrow + Thread began with a desire to remind women that they are seen, known, and loved by God. That truth still matters so much. But over time, the Lord has drawn me toward an even deeper question: Do we know the God who sees us?
If we were sitting together over coffee, I’d tell you that this space has taken a few shapes through the years. But through every season, God has continued to bring me back to His Word—to look more closely, ask honest questions, and learn who He has revealed Himself to be.
That is where Sparrow + Thread is now: a place for women to open Scripture and grow in their knowledge and love of God together.

Meet the Founder
The Lord stirred my heart to come alongside women like you—to lovingly remind you that God is at work in every part of your life and calling.

Hi, I’m Moses. Somewhere between the Nile and the edge of the Promised Land…
Okay, I’m Steph. But give me a calling, and I can produce a surprisingly thorough list of reasons God may have chosen the wrong person. Believe me, I recognize a good “Lord, are You sure You have the ‘right’ person?” when I hear one.
I’ve felt called to write for a long time, but calling and confidence have not always arrived together. I’ve often wondered whether I know enough or have the “right” words. More times than I’d like to admit, I have asked, “Am I really the person to share them?”
Perhaps you know that feeling, too? It’s the strange tension of believing that God may be leading you somewhere while being painfully aware of everything you lack.
When Moses answered God’s call with every reason he thought he was the wrong person, God didn’t point him toward everything he could do. He turned Moses’ attention away from his own ability and back to who He is, the great I AM. And He promised to be with him.
I’m learning to ask God to do the same with me, to turn my attention away from everything I think I lack and back to the truth of who He says He is in Scripture.
That is the heart of Sparrow + Thread: an open Bible, honest questions, and a desire to know God as He has revealed Himself in His Word. Here, I put what I’m learning into words and invite you to bring your Bible and join me. My prayer is that everything shared here turns our attention back to Scripture and grows our desire to know Him more deeply
Of course, I’m not sitting at the writing desk all day. I’m a wife to my best friend and a boy mama to three very adventurous boys. Most days, I’m homeschooling our boys, laughing with my husband about his ridiculously silly dad jokes, reading a good book, making something with my hands, or stopping to photograph something really cool outside. There is usually an unfinished project nearby and an iced coffee within reach… as long as it isn’t too sweet.
So no, I’m not Moses. I’m Steph, a student of the Scriptures. I still have moments when I wonder whether God has the “rigth” person.
And I’m still learning to let who He is answer the question.
There’s room at the desk
Bring Your Bible. Bring your Questions.
Maybe you love God deeply and still find yourself realizing how much more there is to know about Him. Maybe you have questions you’ve been afraid to ask, familiar passages you want to understand more fully, or truths you know in your mind but still learning to trust with your life.
There is room for all of that here.
We can open our Bibles together. We won’t always leave with every question answered, but we can keep returning to Scripture and learning alongside one another. So, bring your Bible. Bring your questions. And pull up a chair.
Why sparrow + Thread?
A Small Bird. A loose thread. a truth I keep coming back to.
I love that neither part of the name is grand. A sparrow can disappear into the sky without the world taking notice. A loose thread can look more like a mess than the beginning of anything beautiful.
Yet, Jesus tells us that not one sparrow is forgotten before God. And in the hands of a maker, a single thread can join what was separate, strenghten what was fragile, and become part of something it could never become alone.
Together, they tell the story I keep needing to remember: God sees what may feel small to us, and He is still at work in what looks unfinished to us. We may not yet see the pattern, but not one part of our story is hidden from His sight or beyond His hands.

David remembers the character and works of God and calls one generation to tell the next. According to this passage, what is worth remembering, meditating on, and making known?
